Raising awareness about Sickle Cell Disease and prioritizing research and policy decisions related to the disease remain one of the biggest challenges faced by Sickle Cell Disease patient advocates. Awareness in the community and at the policy level, as well as robust translational research, is essential to improving health outcomes for patients.
